Inspiration and further development of the store concept for the VANS community concept store in Milan, with the aim of optimizing the customer journey through innovative touchpoints and digital solutions.

Situation

VANS planned to open a community concept store in Milan to create a unique space for local customers, artists and communities.
The company was aware of the key role of digital technologies in retail, but wanted a clear assessment of where technology adds value and where it is just a gimmick.

The Orefici 11 store offers 300 square meters of retail space over three floors for iconic collections and is set to become a hotspot for the local community.

Our approach

We accompanied the project as consultants and reviewed the existing plans, layouts and digital solutions.
Our measures included:

  • Site visit in Milan and analysis of the customer journey on site
  • Documentation of passageways, sight lines and other areas in the store
  • Creation of a detailed consumer journey report with objective recommendations on must-haves and no-gos in the store concept
  • Presentation of the results to the project team

Results

  • Creation of a detailed customer journey report with recommendations for optimizing the store experience
  • Workshops and question sessions to support the project team
  • Opening of the community concept store in May 2022 with:
    • Personalization services
    • Digital screens
    • Livestreaming facilities
    • Collaborations with local artists and radio stations
    • Flexible use of the basement as a skate park
